Training All of our software proposals include
the cost of the applicable classroom training at our facility. We are also able
to conduct on-site training classes for an additional fee per class or per day
if we’re able to hold two classes in one day. We have found that our formal
classroom style of training is much more effective than on-site classes, since
your staff is "out of the office" and given the opportunity to focus on learning
the system. To maximize the effectiveness of the training, we keep the class
size small with no more than three or four companies per class. Also, we ask you
to limit the number of "students" attending each class to two or three people.
Our standard training schedule is designed to be comfortably paced with 2-3
classes scheduled each week. Generally the classes run from 9AM to 1PM with time
allotted for hands on practice in each class.
The number of business classes required is estimated at the time the license
agreement is signed. This is based on the number of users in the company as well
as the type of business.
Classes are priced per person per session. Our experience shows that it is
beneficial to have at least two persons at each class to ensure redundancy.
Should an employee become ill or leave the company you will suffer no costly
downtime. Please note we cannot provide telephone support unless the class is
taken first. The class is designed to ensure you are able to utilize the module
to its fullest. Telephone support is designed to fill in the blanks not to
provide comprehensive training.

Implementation
Apparel Data Systems has a great deal of experience in
implementing our system in a wide variety of companies and situations. Most new
customers prefer to follow our well established, cost effective implementation
plan that typically takes only 8 weeks from the time you receive your hardware
and begin training until you are running ‘live’ on our base system. We can also
be very flexible when it comes to special requirements and have literally had
customers up and running overnight, sometimes even working out of our office and
using our computer. Naturally, some additional service charges may apply in
these unique circumstances.
Apparel Data Systems will assign a Customer Service Rep. (CSR) to your
company. All our CSR’s have an apparel industry and/or an accounting background.
This means that your CSR will speak your language and understand your business
concerns. We would like you to consider your CSR to be your internal advocate
within Apparel Data Systems. Your CSR’s role will start out as a project leader
during your implementation of the Apparel Data Systems system. As our
relationship develops, your CSR will act as our primary liaison to your
company.
Apparel Data Systems recognizes that your company is unique and that our
staff needs to understand the way your company operates to ensure that you will
obtain the maximum benefit from the Apparel Data Systems software. To accomplish
this, our CSR will conduct a minimum of 2 individualized implementation
assistance meetings with your staff. You should allow approximately 4 hours for
each meeting. The first implementation meeting is scheduled immediately and is
usually held in our office since you won’t have your system installed yet.
During this all-important first meeting, we will plan your implementation,
coordinate our training schedules, review your form requirements, etc.
Essentially this meeting is a marriage between you and your new business system.
After this meeting, and throughout your training, your CSR will be following up
with your staff regularly by e-mail and phone, addressing questions and concerns
as they arise. Occasionally your CSR will dial in to your system to review the
progress of the data set-up to ensure it is being done in a correct and timely
manner. As a group, we will also review the status of your implementation during
our weekly operations meeting.
The subsequent implementation meetings are usually held at your location at
the time you start invoicing live on the Apparel Data Systems system. While it’s
not always necessary, we have found that having our expert on-site at this time
goes a long way towards relieving the anxiety that is a natural part of any
system implementation. The third meeting is also held at your location and is
intended to serve as a "handholding" opportunity to ensure your staff is using
the system appropriately. By including unlimited telephone support and
assistance, we have found that this three-step approach works very well for most
customers. For those customers that would like some additional on-site
assistance, we are pleased to offer additional implementation meetings for
$750.00 per session.
A "Procedures Audit" is a detailed review of your internal company operating
procedures that involve the Apparel Data Systems computer system. Apparel Data Systems strongly recommends that you conduct such an audit at the six month
anniversary of installation and annually there after. While these procedures
could be reviewed any time, year-end is generally the most appropriate time for
the process
Apparel Data Systems offers a billable procedures audit service, in which a
Customer Service Rep. will come in and work through our checklist with your
operations staff. For those customers who would prefer to save the expense, and
conduct their own internal review, we are pleased to distribute our checklist.
If you have any questions regarding the points on the checklist, or are not sure
what the "right" answers are, please feel free to call Customer Service for
advice and assistance. As with any procedures audit to succeed, whether
performed by Apparel Data Systems or your own staff, it is vitally important
that the audit be mandated and reviewed from the highest possible level of
management. |
